Microsoft word for mac buy online4/2/2023 Office Home and Business comes with everything from Office Home and Student, plus Outlook for PC and Mac, as well as the rights to use the apps for business purposes. It includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Microsoft Teams for PC and Mac. Office 2021 users can also get access to Microsoft Teams, a redesigned look for the apps and features previously exclusive to Microsoft 365 like advanced grammar suggestions and Presenter Coach in PowerPoint. Meanwhile, Office 2021 for personal use includes some Google Doc-style collaboration features that allow for real-time collaboration through OneDrive. It's meant for specialty situations, such as process control devices on the manufacturing floor that are not connected to the internet, as opposed to for entire organizations. Office LTSC includes enhanced accessibility features, performance improvements across Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and visual improvements like dark mode support across apps. Office 2021 arrives in two versions: one for commercial users called Office LTSC (which stands for Long Term Servicing Channel), and one for personal use. The company previously emphasized that while its main focus remains on its Microsoft 365 subscription offering, it will release the one-time purchase Office 2021 for those who aren't yet ready to move to the cloud. To make it easier to see the application name and whether it’s 64-bit or not, drag the 64-bit header from the far right to the far left so it’s right next to the “Application Name” column.Microsoft's new, flat-price version of its Office productivity software started rolling out Oct. If you scroll to the far right, you should see a column that says “64-Bit” and the words “Yes” or “No” for each application. To do this, click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner, then on “About This Mac” and then on “System Report.” When the report opens up, scroll down to the “Software” section and click on “Applications.”Īn alphabetical list of applications will appear with various details about each one. How to check for 32-bit programsįor those that are considering an upgrade to Catalina, a good first step is to see what 32-bit programs you are currently running to determine if they are important to you or not. Depending upon which version of the MacOS your computer shipped with, you may have to use an external hard drive to complete the reversion. There is no simple way to go back to the previous version (Mojave), so this option is very time consuming and complicated, as you’ll have to wipe your hard drive and reinstall everything. Though it’s a web-based tool, there are options for editing your documents when you are offline. It includes Docs, Sheets and Slides, which are Google’s version of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, although nowhere near as powerful. If your needs for productivity software are very basic, you may find the free options available from Google through a Google Drive account to be acceptable. This means you either pay monthly ($6.99 for Home and Student) or annually ($69.99 for Home and Student or $99 for Business) from now on. Microsoft is trying to get users to convert from a single purchase package that will eventually expire to their subscription “SaaS” (Software as a Service) platform known as Office 365. The primary difference in the two packages is the Business version includes Outlook. You can purchase the Office Home and Student 2019 bundle from Microsoft for $149.99 or the Office Home and Business bundle for $249.99. If you have Office 2016, you should be able to upgrade to the 64-bit version through Microsoft’s standard upgrade process if for some reason it hasn’t already been updated. If your version of Microsoft Office is older than Office 2016 v15.35, you’ll have to choose from a variety of costly or time-consuming and complicated options.

Faster than light mouse problem4/2/2023 Whether these "rules" resulted from experiences or if they are genetically hardwired into the brain remains to be discovered. Additionally, the mice tended to alternate taking lefts and rights when exploring. All 19 mice had a strong preference to keep moving forward and not turn around. The 19 mice used in the study all tended to follow certain "rules of exploration." For example, when encountering a juncture, a mouse can choose to go left, right, or back the way it came. The most direct route requires six correct decisions. After first discovering the water port, the mouse takes on average only 10 tries to figure out the most efficient, direct route to the port from its home cage. Though a thirsty mouse does not know there is water located inside, it will explore the maze methodically. In about half of these experiments, the mouse was thirsty and could be assumed to be motivated by a drive to find water. We allow the mouse to make the kinds of decisions that mice make rather than force them to accept some abstract task that really has no relevance." We just come back seven hours later and analyze videos of what the mouse did during that time. "We don't exert any influence on the animal. "In this study, we expose a mouse to a complex labyrinth environment, turn on a camera, and just walk out of the room," says Meister. The task, though it seems simple for humans, is not a very natural undertaking for a mouse. Even then, the mouse may only get it correct 80 percent of the time. A lab mouse, however, might need around 10,000 trials to correctly learn how to do a task such as this. Given that there are only two decisions to make-turn left or right-it would probably take you no time at all to learn this simple task. When a light comes on to your left, you must turn the wheel to the left when a light comes on to your right, you must turn the wheel to the right. Imagine a steering wheel is set in front of you. A paper describing the study appeared online in the journal eLife on July 21, 2021. Puckett Professor of Electrical Engineering. Biaggini Professor of Biological Sciences, and Pietro Perona, Allen E. The research is a collaboration between the laboratories of Markus Meister (Ph.D. Interestingly, Caltech graduate students performed similarly to mice in navigating a simulated version of the same maze. The study has implications for how we think about the brain and the body's role in intelligence. The mice rapidly learned how to navigate this unfamiliar environment about 1,000 times faster than mice generally learn simple yet unnatural tasks. Caltech researchers have now conducted a study in which they measured how mice navigate a complicated labyrinth, suggesting a new framework with which to study complex animal behaviors and learning.

Graduation background pictorial4/2/2023 To avoid this, here are a few things you can do to streamline this part of the selection process: Yet, so many candidates abandon applications because it takes too long to complete them or they’re too complicated. Of course, you want candidates who start completing your forms to actually go all the way and submit their application. For example, if you’re looking for a senior designer, a disqualifying question could be “Do you have 5+ years of design experience?” Help candidates complete your applications Of course, automatic disqualification should be reserved only for absolute must-have skills. Some of these questions could require simple yes/no answers with the wrong answer automatically disqualifying a candidate – this is something that can also easily be done via recruitment software. What’s the difference between content marketing and journalism?.Briefly describe your experience with Excel. The candidates must answer these questions in order to apply. You can add two or three questions relevant to the position. If you’re using software to build your application forms, using qualifying questions at the beginning of your selection process should be easy. How can you do this? There are two options to get started: qualifying questions and gamification. However, applications can and should be selection tools, helping you sort candidates as qualified or unqualified. The application phase in the selection process is sometimes seen as passive from the hiring team side – you just wait for candidates to respond to your job ad. Here are eight steps in the selection process for hiring employees and how to best go through each - if you’re interested in specific employee selection process steps, click on the table of contents below: Whether you want to hire an intern for your company, fill positions in your rapidly growing startup, build out your sales team, or grow your employee base by tenfold, there’s something here to meet your needs: a quick step-by-step guide to follow for your recruitment and selection process so you can get that new star candidate on your team. If you’re like any employer, HR representative or recruiter, you probably don’t have the time to get into the nitty-gritty details of the selection process. Instead, you have to go through numerous steps to get to the final stage of the employee selection process, right from building a hiring plan, drafting a job announcement, conducting interviews, running background checks, and sending the final offer letter, among many other steps along the way. You don’t just look up and down the list of candidates and say, “Hmm, that person will do just fine.” Let’s face it: finding and selecting a candidate for a job isn’t as cut and dried as it may initially seem.

Orcs must die 3 xbox4/2/2023 This video goes to level 50+ and 8+ million score, but is not the Xbox version of the game which seems to be much harder than other versions, for example on Wave 17, you can see in this video that only ONE yellow bomb comes doing nothing. If you see little yellow dots, race to kill them ASAP. The triangle are not a big deal, just stay behind the portal and they will get sucked in, costing zero points, or you can kill them safely. ***You have to watch out for the ANY yellow enemies on your radar. It very boring and long, but it works very well. Basically everyone will be stuck in one area turning around, slowed, confused, and fumbling about. 2.5 million (not enough for the 5 million achievement).Īs you can see below with the equipment selection and in the video the idea is an insane and ultra slow down effect. I had all but one item you see on the list below up to max, max. Of course, you need to have everything upgraded to max. Becoming cross stitch designer4/2/2023 The main differences are the type of stitch used, the fabric and the thread. What is cross stitch vs needlepoint?Īlthough they may seem similar, cross stitch and needlepoint are different. You can read more about the benefits some of my readers have found here. There are many benefits to cross stitch including relieving stress and anxiety, helping you stick to a diet or to quit smoking (it keeps your mind busy), to use as a creative outlet and to use as some self-care time.Īlso, it usually keeps our eyes away from a screen (if you use a paper pattern) which has huge benefits, especially before going to bed. If it does’t, you can always ask the designer! When buying a kit or design it should say what stitches are included in the pattern and if it is suitable for beginners. I try and only use 1 stitch in my designs so they are almost all suitable for beginners. The beauty of cross stitch though is that you can just learn one stitch and still be able to stitch beautiful designs. Generally yes, but of course when you are just starting out you will need to work to get the hang of it. You can find many of these tutorials on my blog but I recommend starting with this post which lists my 5 favourite ways to finish a cross stitch project. You can frame it in a traditional frame or hoop to display it, make a card, a banner, a garland, a cushion, a bookmark, a lampshade and so much more. There are many things you can make from a cross stitch design. You can read more about stitching on aida here and more about stitching on evenweave here. If you stitch on 14 count aida and 28 count evenweave your design will be the same size. But on evenweave you “stitch over 2” so you miss a hole when making your X.įor this reason, evenweave comes in higher counts than aida, but your design can still be the same size on both. On aida you “stitch over 1” (meaning you go from one hole directly across to the next hole). What is the difference between aida and evenweave?Īida and evenweave are both fabric that can be used to cross stitch on. If you have a question that hasn’t been answered here just pop it in the comments and I will answer it if I can. These aren’t really questions about any “how-to” but if you are new to cross stitch and need some tutorials I have a lot on this blog and I recommend starting here or downloading my free E-book to get you started in cross stitch. These are questions that I personally and ones that I see popping up on social media a lot. In this post, I am going to share 20 FAQs about cross stitch.

Art tools in a colorful wave4/2/2023 Palettes come in different sizes, shapes, and materials, from plastic to glass, metal, and ceramic. Its surface is coated, preventing the pigments from sinking down to its fibers, this enables you to create reproductions of your design with bright colors.Ī palette is a surface an artist uses to hold and mix their paints. Print-making: this medium is very versatile and ideal for works that require a great number of inks like high-quality prints. Mixed-media: this type of paper was created with the intention of providing artists with a surface that could withstand a variety of media techniques from watercolors, to markers and inks! It’s thicker than drawing paper ( 140lb/300g) and has a bit of a texture. Watercolor paper: this paper has cotton intertwined in its fibers which allows it to absorb more water. Sketch paper: as its name implies, this thinner version of drawing paper is used for practicing and outlining future creations. Drawing paper is thicker (100lb/163g) with a medium tooth (bumps in the surface that create texture) and it’s ideal for dry media like pencils. Drawing paper: this is the preferred option for finished art pieces, it’s a bit more expensive than other pads. This is a list of different types of paper every artist should have in their studio: Paper also has a texture created by its “teeth” or the little bumps you might find on its surface, which function is holding the pigments. Lighter paper is thinner and might not resist wet media or using an eraser. Acid-free sheets are preferred by many artists because it prevents deterioration and discoloration.Īnother characteristic to take into account is the weight of the paper, this term refers to its thickness. When choosing paper, you can go with either pads or journals. In order to question yourself “What should I paint?”, first you need something to paint on, that’s why you need to get yourself the right blank medium to make it happen. You don’t need all the paint tubes available: think about a few basics for your color palette and how you can mix them to achieve different hues. I f you are starting out, acrylic paint is a good place to begin, you can go for medium quality paint to experiment and then you can start discovering new materials and investing in them. Truth is, every artist has their favorite type and brand, each paint has different pigments and properties. It depends on what you want to create and the medium you’ll use. When it comes to the type of paints artists have many options to choose from. Ideal for big format paintings.Īlways remember to clean them properly to maintain the brush quality.Īcrylic, oil, gouache, graffiti, watercolors. Wash brushes: these flat and wide brushes are ideal to cover large surfaces because they can hold a lot of paint. This type of brush is helpful for softening edges, blending, and creating effects. Fan: are looking to create a particular texture? This is your tool! A flat brush with a splayed bristle and a round tip. Filberts: this is a bit of a mix, it is a flat brush with a rounded tip offering a wide variety of marks and lines. They are available in both blunt and pointed tips, these last ones are ideal for creating details and thin lines. Flat brushes: these are very versatile they can help cover large areas with flat strokes and also (when using their edges) create fine lines. There are the essential brushes you need in your art toolset: The second step is choosing the right shape for the type of stroke, line, and texture you want. A soft bristle provides a soft and smooth stroke while brushes with a harsher bristle create rough and thick layers of paints The first thing to choose is the type of bristle from natural (they are made out of animal hair) to synthetic bristles. There is such a wide variety of brushes that finding the right set (or building up your own) can be a bit overwhelming. If you are just getting started you might want to get the basics: an HB pencil for sketching, a 2B for drawing details and contrast, a 6B for shading, and a 9B for darker tones and blending. The name tells you the type of line and effect you can achieve: hard and bold, light and soft, smearable or blendable, and even if it’s easy to erase or draw over it. What kind do you need? You can choose between traditional and mechanical pencils with different hardness: 9H (lightest) to 9B (darkest). Why? They are your go-to tool for sketching, filling your art journal with ideas that might grow into an art piece, and of course, they might be the main tool if you want to do a pencil drawing. Pencils are the ultimate essential in your art tool kit. If you are starting your path as an artist and want to make sure you have the right art tools, or you already have some experience and are ready to update or upgrade your art supplies, check this list of essential art tools. New art supplies: apps and digital tools for artists.

Google duo vs facetime4/2/2023 FaceTime and iMessage are part of the iOS, not just. When data gets choppy, though, the app seamlessly lowers. FaceTime feels more integrated than Duo but it is a good application. This simplicity is nice for everybody, but it can be essential for getting less tech-savvy users (talkin' 'bout your parents!) up and running without requiring in-person tech support. Calls on Duo look great as far as video chats go, (anecdotally) beating out other Android options like Skype and WhatsApp. Android users can’t initiate a FaceTime call, however. You can use it on other Android devices, too, obviously, by downloading the app from the Play Store - and on iOS, Assistant-equipped smart displays, and the web (you don't even need a phone number for the web app). The interface is about as simple as it could be, too: you have a field to start a call by dialing a number, or you can tap a contact to call them. Google Duo vs Zoom: Which Is the Best Video Calling Tool Most people frequently communicate with friends, clients, and coworkers via text and voice calls. Now hosts with the latest version of iOS or macOS can send a link to Android users inviting them to join a FaceTime video call. It'll sign you into the primary account on your phone, request the necessary permissions, and you're off to the races. Performance: You can add up to 25 people to a group call and, unlike Google Duo and FaceTime, can instant message during a video session. If you have an Android phone, odds are good you already have Duo, and getting it set up is as simple as opening the app. If you're looking to get out of the Zoom bubble for your smaller work meetings or social calls with friends and family, Google Duo is actually a pretty awesome option, and we'll break down just why that is in this post.

He was cleared of that killing but evidence from that case was allowed to be presented at his second trial, including the fact that he inherited $500,000 in life insurance money from the first woman's death. Part of the reason was that years earlier, in 1986, his second wife had also turned up dead from a gunshot wound to the head. He has always denied the murders and says he came home to find his wife dead, having been shot by the Miller, and that he shot Miller in self-defense.
